How ZiggyBook's SMS assistant works

Last updated: April 20, 2026

ZiggyBook is an AI-powered booking assistant for small service businesses (landscapers, cleaners, dog walkers, detailers, and similar). When you text a business that uses ZiggyBook, our AI (“Ziggy”) helps you book appointments, check availability, and get reminders — all over SMS.

This page explains how you consent to receive text messages, what messages you’ll get, and how to stop at any time.

How you opt in

You opt in to receive SMS from a ZiggyBook-powered business by sending a text message to that business’s phone number. Your first inbound message — whether it’s “book a mow for Thursday,” “hi,” or any other word — is your explicit consent to receive SMS replies from the AI assistant and that business.

Example opt-in flow

You text: Hi, can I book a lawn mow for Thursday morning?

Ziggy replies: Hi! I’m Ziggy, the booking assistant for Green Valley Landscaping. I have Thursday at 9:00 AM open for a basic mowing ($75, 1 hour). Want me to book it? Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

You do not need to visit a website or fill out a form to opt in. Texting the business is the opt-in.

What messages you’ll receive

We do not send marketing or promotional messages unrelated to the services you’ve requested. Message frequency varies by how often you interact with the business — typically 0–5 messages per appointment.

Message & data rates

Message and data rates may apply. ZiggyBook does not charge you directly for messages; any message or data charges come from your mobile carrier under your existing phone plan.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further SMS from that business’s number through ZiggyBook.

Reply HELP to receive a short description of the service and how to reach the business directly.

Who sees your messages

Your messages are handled by ZiggyBook’s AI (hosted by Anthropic) and are accessible to the owner of the business you’re texting. They are stored in our secure database (Supabase) and transmitted via Twilio, our SMS carrier. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling, retention, and your rights.
